Why We’re Not NADCA Certified – And What That Means for You

At Fresh Start Duct Cleaning Services, we believe in honesty, transparency, and delivering the highest quality service to our customers across Grey Highlands and surrounding areas. We are often asked if we are NADCA certified. The answer is no—and we want to take a moment to explain why that’s a deliberate choice.

What Is NADCA?
NADCA, the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, is a U.S.-based organization that sets certain guidelines and standards for duct cleaning. While their intentions may have started with improving industry credibility, we believe there are several reasons why this certification does not align with our values or serve the best interest of our Canadian clients.
NADCA Is an American Organization, with Limited Relevance in Canada
NADCA is based in the United States, and its certification is primarily focused on U.S. regulations and standards. Here in Canada, especially in Ontario, our climate, building standards, and HVAC systems can be quite different. NADCA offers no localized support or ongoing guidance for Canadian businesses, making the certification less meaningful for us and our clients.
They Offer No Real Ongoing Support After Certification
One of the key reasons we’ve chosen not to pursue NADCA certification is that, beyond the initial cost and training, there is little to no practical support offered to certified members. As a hands-on, owner-operated business, we’re committed to continuous learning and improvement—but we prefer to invest in tools, training, and education that offer real value and ongoing impact for our customers.
They Promote Equipment They Themselves Say Shouldn’t Be Used
Another concern we’ve encountered is the inconsistency in NADCA’s own training materials. While they claim to support high industry standards, they also promote or recommend equipment that, according to their own guidelines, falls short of best practices. This kind of contradiction makes it difficult to trust the integrity of the program—and it’s one more reason we’ve chosen a different path.
We Rely on Real-World Experience and Customer Trust
Our business was founded on the belief that this industry needed a fresh start—that customers deserved transparency, professionalism, and results they could see and feel. We’ve built our reputation not through third-party badges, but through word-of-mouth, repeat clients, and consistent 5-star reviews from local homeowners and businesses.

In Conclusion
We’re not NADCA certified—and that’s by choice. Instead of investing in a membership that doesn’t serve our Canadian customers, we invest in Canada! We support LOCAL - Our suppliers are located here in Ontario and Quebec. We invest in our community, such as public skating, community events, community organizations, children sport teams and more. Our company would much rather donate to our community that give money to another American, money hungry company.

We welcome your questions and are always happy to explain our methods, tools, and service process. If you're looking for trustworthy duct cleaning than you are in the right spot!
Thanks for supporting local and for choosing Fresh Start.
